Radiology Technologist
The Radiology Technologist will perform radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. The Radiology Technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
Responsibilities for Radiology Technologist
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed.
Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunction to Director.
Qualifications for Radiology Technologist
Graduate of a Radiology/Medical Imaging school
Current/Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
Current/Valid Licensure in medical radiography by the State of Arkansas
1-2 years' experience in health care operations
Current BLS certification required
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Radiology Director
