Licensed Practical Nurse - Day Shift
The Emergency Department LPN will work under the general supervision of the Nursing Director. The LPN is responsible for providing general nursing care to patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physician’s orders and established standards and protocols
Responsibilities for the Emergency Department LPN
Provides skilled nursing care to patients as ordered by the physician and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Implements orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with nursing care plan as written by the RN and documents appropriately.
• Helps identify patient problems and potential risks and contributes to the development of interventions.
• Assists in identification of patient’s learning needs and reinforces self-care and other techniques.
• Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
• Effectively communicates with all members of the healthcare team
Qualifications for Emergency Department LPN
Successful completion of accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program required.
• Current state Licensed Practical Nurse license required
• One (1) years’ experience in Emergency Department or Med - Surg clinical role or related experience
• Current BLS certification required
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by CNO or Nursing Director
