Certified Dietary Manager

The CDM for Dietary Services manages the entire food and nutrition service department and reports directly to the Dietary Director. The CDM must have knowledge and experience in all phases of food purchasing, preparation, production control, budgeting, inventory control, safety, sanitation, equipment, food and labor cost control, and menu development. 

Responsibilities for Certified Dietary Manager

  • Ability to work independently and to work in a team unit with other staff in the food and nutrition department and other departments.

  • Knowledge of geriatric nutrition, food service, and state federal regulations.

  • Excellent cooking skills utilizing various cooking methods and products.  Knowledge of varied meal service options is preferred. 

  • Perform various dietary services duties in instances of staff shortages

  • Excellent communication skills with staff, co-workers, clients, and other individuals.

Qualifications for Certified Dietary Manager

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • 3-5+ years' experience in dietary manager role or related experience

  • Certified Dietary Manager Certification required

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by CEO or Dietary Director
